The Peragallo History
The Peragallo Pipe Organ Company was founded in 1918 by Mr. John Peragallo, Sr..
Mr. Peragallo originally developed his craft as an apprentice with the famous E.M. Skinner Organ Company. His first new instrument was for St. Michael's Church in Paterson, NJ and was dedicated by the renown organist of St. Patricks Cathedral, NYC - Pietro Yon.
Mr. John Peragallo, Jr., a member of the American Guild of Organists, joined the company in 1949 and further enhanced the business with a close "Father-Son" relationship. John Jr. now serves as company president.
John Jr.'s sons have been actively involved in the family business since the 1980's. John III is a graduate of the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a degree in Electrical Engineering and is also a church and concert organist. John III applies his talents to organ specification design and designing new solid-state digital switching systems employed in today's pipe organs.
Frank Peragallo designs the organ layout drawings, caseworks and structural details. He is also a master cabinet maker and floor operations director. Upon installation of each organ he works closely together with John III in the tonal finishing of the instruments.
The fourth generation of Peragallo's are now also working alongside John and Frank. Janine, who is a graduate of Marywood University in Scranton specializes in graphic design. Anthony is attending Montclair State University specializing in business. John IV is completing his degree in architecture at The Catholic University of America.
The Peragallo Firm has been a family owned and operated business for over ninety years. We hold a personal commitment of a deep rooted dedication in the old world craftsmanship and commitment to the functional technology of today's digital society. The firm has grown steadily and includes a staff of 16 skilled, competent craftsmen with an excellent maintenance department.
Specialized personal voicing has been the credo of the Peragallo Organ Company throughout the years. All of their instruments are custom-designed, built and installed with personal voicing by John Peragallo, Jr. and his sons. These factors accentuate the creation of fine pipe organs.
High quality and prompt, efficient servicing at all times accompanies all their pipe organ installations. All of their new organs are guaranteed for a period of ten years against defects in workmanship and material.
Recently we have completed instruments for St. Magdalen de Pazzi Church in Flemington, St. John the Beloved Church in Summerville, SC, Marywood University Chapel, St. Theresa's Church, Trumbull, CT. St. Francis Xavier Church in Hyannis, MA and refurbishment of the famous instruments at both Saint Patrick's Cathedral and St. Paul the Apostle Church in NYC.
